FAQs about buffet catering in Melbourne
Is there a minimum order amount for buffets?
Buffet minimums are generally the same as the caterer’s set amount. Our caterers do vary a bit in their minimum-spend amounts, so if you’ve got a smaller group, you’ll want to keep an eye on that. So, for example, if a caterer has a $200 minimum order and a buffet is set at $25 per person, you’ll need to order the buffet for at least eight people. If you need catering for fewer people than the minimum, we’d recommend trying with another caterer or getting in touch with our customer service team so we can find a better option for you.
Are buffets a cost-effective catering option?
They certainly can be! It’s often much easier for a catering company to make food in bulk and, depending on what type of catering you’re comparing it to, buffets also require no wait staff as they’re self-serve.
How much does buffet catering cost?
The cost of buffet catering can vary depending on several factors, including the number of people, the type of cuisine chosen, and the specific dishes selected. On average expect to spend around $15-$50 per person
Can I customise my buffet catering menu?
Absolutely! We work with a network of caterers who offer diverse menus and are often willing to customise to meet your specific needs. You can choose the style of buffet with most partners and can often pick and choose your mains, sides, and salads.
Is buffet catering a good choice for a corporate event?
es, buffet catering is an excellent choice for corporate events. It allows for a wide variety of food options and can cater to different dietary preferences. This style of catering also encourages mingling among attendees.
How far in advance do I need to order buffet catering?
Every caterer has different lead times, but if you're not set on a specific supplier, your buffet can be prepared in less than 24 hours.
We would recommend ordering as early as you can though. That way you'll have a wider range of menus to choose from and you don't have to worry about your preferred caterer being unavailable.
Do you need to pay for delivery of corporate catering in Melbourne?
Sometimes; it depends on which caterer you order from. That said, there are more than 50 partners in our marketplace that don't charge anything for delivery of corporate catering in Melbourne. And that includes food options like Italian, Middle Eastern, salads, Mexican, Indian, Chinese, Vietnamese and plenty of traditional catering options.
